The best dates give us something to do, not just somewhere to sit

I like plans that leave us with a story instead of only a receipt.

A nice dinner can be great, but I really love dates built around doing something together.

Painting, trying a new activity, picking ridiculous accessories or making something badly gives both people something to react to.

It takes some pressure off the conversation too. You can talk when it feels natural, laugh at the activity and learn how the other person handles not being instantly good at something.

I think the best dates feel less like a performance and more like shared play.
